FREE movement classes for disabled and learning disabled adults…
FRIDAY 14:00 – 15:00
FREE of charge. No booking required.
A pioneering dance programme, this class combines evidence-based exercise with the creative energy of dance for disabled and learning disabled adults aged 18 and over.
Move to Health is the ideal way to improve strength, balance and coordination and make friends.
Produced by DanceWest, the classes help to improve physical and mental health supporting independence and quality of life. The programme is for both male and female participants.
Sessions are led by fully trained dance specialists recognised internationally for their work. Our dance artists have training in dance movement therapy, dance physiotherapy, dance for Parkinson’s and dance for Dementia.
Each session is tailored to the needs and requirements of those participating. The class starts with a warm-up, which mobilises the joints, followed by structured exercises, choreography and then freestyle.
After each session there is an opportunity to relax and catch up with other in Café Fika.
DanceWest is an award-winning charity that has pioneered high-quality dance programmes since 2014.
It offers a creative response to issues including poor health, socio-economic disadvantage and unequal access to physical activity.
