Reap the benefits of being creative and go home with a product made by you!
EVERY MONDAY 10:00 – 12:00
No fee – £5 donation to LiveWell Kew is welcome.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a crafty creative, you’ll find a warm welcome and talented local makers waiting for you at our Get Creative with MU sessions.
Each month, volunteers from the award-winning Makers United focus on a different, exciting craft.
From repairs and alterations, to knitting and cross-stitching, you’re invited to bring a work in progress with you, or try something new under the guidance of experienced makers.
This is an informal class where Makers United bring people from our community together to create, make and socialise. Everyone is welcome!
You’ll find a warm, pressure-free space with tutors who are there to simply guide and answer any questions you may have.
Meanwhile, you get to enjoy all the benefits that being creative, experiencing an opportunity for mindfulness and making while socialising can have on our wellbeing.
Makers United have plenty of donated materials you can use or bring a garment or project along with you.
About Makers United…
Makers United, an award-winning enterprise based in Richmond, was founded by Cornelia Costeanu.
“My vision with Makers United is to spread the word about the benefits of making things by hand. Buying a sewing machine is the best investment you can ever make!
“I have been teaching craft in primary schools, community centres and charities for over 15 years. I am passionate about sharing my skills and encouraging other people to do the same.
“Makers United is here to support all makers in the community – we offer advice, promote and create opportunities for everyone to try a new craft and help makers develop and earn money from their craft.”
